AIMS OF JOINT COMENIUS PROJECT.
To create new lifestyles for a new active citizen;
To recognise the importance of water both as a source of
life and also a potential threat in each of the partner countries;
To educate the ecologically aware citizen about water pollution
and water wastage;
To raise awareness of the interrelation between water and
people in the past, present and future;
To offer young people the opportunity to interact with
people across different social, cultural and national boundaries,
thereby challenging stereotype images;
To support an opportunity for young people at risk, to
contribute in a positive manner to their community;

To enable staff to engage in trans- European professional development
activities, experience other education systems at work and exchange
ideas of good practice;
To disseminate the project to other interested parties
parents, teachers, schools, the wider community and local
community;
EXPECTED IMPACT ON THE PARTICIPANTS
It is anticipated that participation in this exciting multilateral,
cross-curricular project will:
Better inform all participants of the importance of water
in the environment and society of each of the partner countries;
Encourage the young people and their teachers to recognise
similarities and differences and express empathy and understanding
for people of different nationalities and cultures;
Provide the participants with opportunities to engage in
enjoyable and rewarding educational and professional development
activities;
Promote a more positive and creative approach to teaching
and learning which addresses different learning styles and in
which independent research, pair and group work are major components;
Raise the self-esteem of the young people involved and
improve their communication and social skills;
Build community spirit and support the development of relationships
not only between the partner schools but also with local groups,
education authorities and organisations within their respective
regions.
